Background: The combination of the Investigator and Opportunist weaves introspection together with a natural gift for establishing close relationships.1/4's have an inner urge to creatively externalize their investigative findings to people they know. While the conscious Investigator is focused on getting to the bottom of what makes things work, the transpersonal Opportunist is looking for ways to get that knowledge out.To do so they make friends with people, as part of a personal network that will ultimately become the recipients of their message. Investigative Opportunist's have a special platform from which to influence others, for once they secure a solid foundation and connect with a network, they become engaging authorities themselves.

There is something very special about this Profile as both the 1st line and 4th lines are in 'harmony' with each other, and even though they operate in different ways, both are 'foundation' lines. The 1st line establishes the ground floor foundation of the house, and the 4th line is the foundation for the second floor. This is a special circumstance in that both lines of the Profile are essentially interested in the same thing. There is a harmony between what they investigate and what they externalize, and what they want to externalize is what they want to investigate. Harmony Profiles (1/4,215,3/6, 4/1,512,6/3) are a minority in the population, and playa role in the world as innocent agents of transition by bridging information and the other 6 Profiles to each other.

Personal: You are here to grasp the foundation of whatever you are interested in at a very deep level, and to take this knowledge base and externalize it to your network. You are driven to seek authorities that can teach you and prepare you, so that eventually you can establish yourself as an authority in a field or topic that intrigues you. As you emerge into the world as an authority, your insecurity turns into security and provides you with a solid foundation to stand on. You move from a position of weakness to one of strength, and you can be a force of strength for others a well. In order to delve deeply you need time alone, as your chameleon-like introspection allows you to submerge yourself into what you are investigating. You are not communally creative, and instead enjoy creative solitude which is very healing and brings richness to your life.

Your natural friendliness is also an intimacy strategy that attracts listeners and eventually partners. What you are looking for is a confidante, and lasting relationships begin by building friendships first. When following your Strategy and Authority you are very clear in your introspective process of investigation, and wait for the correct opportunity to tell others about what you have learned and discovered. You aren't just learning for yourself, or for its own sake, but with an eye toward attracting those who might be interested in and benefit from the information. In fact, you do not have to discover or experience something personally before you are willing to share it with others.

Investing in and maintaining your network is one of the most important things that you do in life. Your investment in people brings future opportunities to express your knowledge base. Knowing how to make decisions in terms of which people to invest in is crucial to your wellbeing; investing in the wrong networks and people is detrimental and leads to burnout and fatigue. All of your new associations need to come to you through an introduction by your network; you are not designed to influence strangers. Your 1st line Investigator is not concerned with the other, and your friendly 4th line Opportunist is unconscious, therefore, the only way for you to know who is correct for you is through your Strategy and Authority. Your opportunities in life come from networks and people you know, and it is important that you never leave one thing, such as a job, lover, or home until you have something else to take its place. If you do, you will have a hard time finding a replacement.

Retreating from your network at times is also crucial in order to recover from the fatigue resulting from your social networking. You can exhaust yourself listening to others as it takes considerable time and energy to cultivate your network as you wait for your opportunity to tell your truth.

Interpersonal: The 1/4 profile is the conscious authoritarian and the unconscious abdicator. Investigator Opportunists don't handle resistance well from others, and when they meet someone who rejects their influence they will abdicate without changing their position, and simply move on to find someone else willing and open to listening to them. The quality of a 4th line's life is dependent on the quality ofthe network. They are very powerful and influential people, fixed like an oak tree, who project an aura of strength and authority. Opportunists who are living authentically, however, do not create their networks — they meet them through Strategy and Authority.

1/4's are looking for support, and are dependent on others until they can get to a point in life where they become an authority providing for themselves. Once on solid ground, they are then in control of their own life, and get their opportunity to be generous and caring benefactors for others in return. As children they will simply believe whatever they are told. It is important for parents of 1/4's to only give them truthful information that they themselves are sure of It can be devastating for a 1/4 child to find out later that they were lied to. 4th lines can also express a mean side when provoked that can come back to haunt them. Though it seems impossible to change a 1/4's mind about a deeply held understanding, this same fixedness combined with empathy toward others is what brings transition and evolution to our tribal and collective foundations.
